Wiring
systems for commercial vehicles and
telecommunications component manufacture
PKC
Group Oyj has developed into its present shape following
a rather winding path. The company itself lists the
most important events as follows: founded in 1969, as
the wiring harness unit of Pohjolan Kaapeli Oy owned
by Nokia. Management-buy-out deal in 1994, which resulted
in the foundation of PK Cables Oy. After this deal the
company concentrated on wiring harnesses for the heavy
vehicle industry. It expanded to the telecommunications
industry in 1996 and was listed on the Helsinki Stock
Exchanges in 1997. The company opened a factory in Brazil
in 1998. In the same year it bought Oy Raahen TH Elektroniikka
Ab. And finally, the company changed its name to PKC
Group in 2000.
